President Khurelsukh Receives Laotian Graduates of Mongolian Universities

Vientiane, November 8, 2023 /MONTSAME. President of Mongolia Khurelsukh Ukhnaa met Laotian graduates of Mongolian Universities led by Bounkhuang Khamboun, President of the Laotion-Mongolian Friendship Association. 


Since 1976, Mongolia has educated over 130 students from the Lao People's Democratic Republic, and currently, 59 Lao students are pursuing their studies at Mongolian universities.


Bounkhuang Khamboun, the President of the Laotian-Mongolian Friendship Association, is a graduate of the Mongolian University of Life Sciences, where he studied from 1977 to 1983. Since 2016, he has served as a member of the National Assembly of the Lao People's Democratic Republic. 


President Khurelsukh underscored the importance of official talks between the two Heads of State in deepening relations and cooperation between Mongolia and Laos. Mongolian President highlighted the valuable contribution of Mongolian-speaking Laotian graduates in strengthening people-to-people ties between the two countries. 



Bounkhuang Khamboun, President of the Laotion-Mongolian Friendship Association, thanked Mongolian President Khurelsukh for his meeting with Laotian students who graduated from Mongolian universities.


Mr. Bounkhuang Khamboun noted that President Khurelsukh's visit to the Lao PDR would be a crucial catalyst in elevating traditional friendly relations between the two countries.


At the meeting, the Laotian graduates fondly recalled their time in Mongolia and shared their observations of the country's remarkable transformation since their graduation.
