Ulaanbaatar, May 9, 2023 /MONTSAME/. Doha, a beautiful city in Qatar, is hosting the prestigious World Judo Championships – 2023 on May 7 to May 13.

From Mongolia, Baskhuu Yondonperenlei topped the bronze medal podium in the men's -66 kg category on the second day of the Championships after a tense contest against Margvelashvili Vazha of Georgia, an Olympic Silver Medalist and Bronze Medalist of the World championships.

Now, Yo. Baskhuu became a two-time Bronze Medalist of the World Championships, adding to his previous medal in 2021.

Despite Margvelashvili's impressive resume, Baskhuu emerged victorious in the end. The match was intense and closely contested, with both athletes demonstrating impressive skill and technique. However, during the match, a slip-up from Margvelashvili allowed Baskhuu to hold him in Osae Komi in a golden score, ultimately leading to Baskhuu's victory.
