Ambassador to France attends webinar on investment and business opportunities

Ulaanbaatar/MONTSAME/. On January 25, Mongolia’s Ambassador
to the French Republic U. Nyamkhuu attended a webinar on the cooperation opportunities
and expansion of business relations with countries of Central Asia and South Caucasus;
Mongolia, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan,
organized by Mouvement des entreprises de France (MEDEF) in collaboration with
Ile-de-France Committee of Foreign Trade Advisors (CCEs).
During the webinar, Ambassador U.Nyamkhuu briefed on the
economic situation in Mongolia and emphasized that French companies and
entrepreneurs have a wide opportunity to invest in Mongolia, located between
two large markets Russia and China.
In particular, the ambassador noted the possibility of cooperating in processing of Mongolia's agricultural raw materials and producing numerous export-oriented products. Mentioning about the purpose and importance of the ‘Vision 2050’ and ‘New Revival Policy’, the ambassador provided information on commencement of Oyu Tolgoi’s underground mining operations, its contributions to the country’s socioeconomy and new opportunities to be created as a result of the underground mining operations.
Following the ambassador's presentation, Mr. Christophe
Fontaine, a French businessman and former head of the France-Mongolia Business
Council of MEDEF International, shared his view that Mongolia's geographical
location, economic and political stability, democratic system, Mongolian
openness as well as successful operation of French CIS group in the Oyu Tolgoi
project show that French investors and companies have full potential.
