Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/. On September 14, Minister of Education and Science L.Enkh-Amgalan received representatives led by Chair of the French-Mongolian friendship group in the Senate of France Philippe Mouiller.

Since the two countries began to cooperate in the educational sector in 1923, the Embassy of France has consistently provided support in matters such as visa issuance and scholarships. In the framework of the agreement established between the two countries’ governments, a joint scholarship program has been implemented since 2015.

The number of Mongolian students to receive the scholarship for their graduate studies at French universities and colleges were reduced from 10 to 6 due to the pandemic situation. Thus, the Minister of Education and Science expressed his wish to increase the scholarship financing and the number of students to be involved in the program.

At the initiative of the Minister of Education and Science, training was organized to learn from the practices of school counselors in France as well as how they are prepared. In its framework, the Minister also requested support from the French side for cooperation regarding the matter.

During the meeting, the French Senate members highlighted the amendments being made to the General Law on Education.

Furthermore, they informed the Education Minister about the system for preschool educational services provided for children aged 3-5 in France.

The sides agreed to further strengthen the cooperation between the Education Ministries of Mongolia and France.
