Prime Minister of Mongolia pays courtesy call on Japan’s Emperor Naruhito

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/. Prime Minister of Mongolia L.Oyun-Erdene, together with honorable delegates taking part in the Opening Ceremony for the Tokyo Olympic Games, paid a courtesy call on His Majesty the Emperor Naruhito. 


Mongolia’s Prime Minister Oyun-Erdene extended his deepest respect and congratulations to Emperor Naruhito for formally declaring the opening of the Tokyo Olympics and noted his confidence that the strategic partnership and cooperation between Mongolia and Japan will be further strengthened during the current era of Reiwa. 


Japan’s Emperor Naruhito noted his delight with meeting with Mongolia’s Premier and talked about his memory of Mongolia and its people during his travel to Mongolia in 2007. 


PM Oyun-Erdene invited the Emperor of Japan to visit Mongolia in 2022 on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the diplomatic relations between Mongolia and Japan. 


During the event, Prime Minister Oyun-Erdene also met with Jill Biden, First Lady of the United States and Emmanuel Macron, President of France to talk about issues on Mongolia's bilateral ties with the U.S. and France and a wide range of issues of mutual concerns. 


Tomorrow, July 24, PM Oyun-Erdene will meet with Yasutoshi Nishimura, Japan’s minister for economic revitalization and COVID-19 response and officials from Japan’s National Institute of Infectious Diseases.
