Mongolia to host 30th population census conference December 2-4

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/. The National Statistics Office of Mongolia (NSO Mongolia) is to organize the 30th Population Census Conference in an online format between December 2, Wednesday and December 4, Friday in cooperation with the Association of National Census and Statistics Directors of America, Asia and the Pacific (ANCSDAAP) and Statistics Korea.


The 2020 Round of the meeting of the heads of the national statistical agencies in the Asia-Pacific and America will be held under the theme ‘Innovations in Data Collection, Processing, and Dissemination’.  


The NSO has been appointed as the President of the ANCSDAAP for 2018-2020 and was scheduled to hold the 30th Population Census Conference in Ulaanbaatar on June 10-12, 2020, but the conference had been postponed twice due to the COVID-19 pandemic.


The Population Census Conference is organized once every one and a half years or two years with the aim of collecting population statistics, conduct analysis on them and promote cooperation. 


The NSO Mongolia previously hosted the 20th and 26th Population Census Conferences, and served as the Vice President of the ANCSDAAP twice and as President once in 2018-2020.
