Ulaanbaatar/MONTSAME/. Prime Minister U.Khurelsukh and ministers of the cabinet held a business meeting with entrepreneurs and businessmen at the Mongolian National Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MNCCI) on August 27.
The business meeting brought
together over 250 businessmen and representatives of more than 20
non-governmental organizations.
In the beginning, the Prime
Minister briefed about Mongolia’s present socio-economic situation and
government policy and further actions on promoting business environment and
their activities.
The PM quoted some good
performances. In 2018 and 2019, no adjustment was made to the State Budget.
Foreign currency reserve reached USD4.1 billion, foreign trade turnover was USD8.1 billion and budget loss declined from 18 percent to 5.1
percent. As well as Mongolia’s credit rating upgraded in international arena.
The PM U.Khurelsukh said, “We
need to speak out challenges and difficulties lying in the business sector. The
government will give all-round support to producers, but will hold strict
responsibility on those who are conducting illegal operations. Decisions we are
currently making related to mining sector are the things we are cleaning weeds grown in
the business environment. But you must be aware that it does not mean we are
cutting grasses.”
Entrepreneurs
put some requests including implementing flexible tax policy in harmony
with the directions of business activities, supporting national production, taking measures to decentralize population and introducing innovation achievements into
production without wasting time in order to get along with world development,
improving waste management, stopping political interference in business as well as
others.
They also proposed to organize
a discussion together with the government on pressing issues in every sector. The
PM supported this idea and agreed to hold the business meeting every quarter.
