‘Mongolian Day’ Investment Forum Highlights New Opportunities

the framework of the XII Mongolia-Japan Consultative Meeting, the “Mongolian
Day” Investment Forum was held, highlighting new opportunities.
The Embassy of Mongolia in Japan
organized the Forum, aiming to expand cooperation in the banking and financial
sectors, attract Japanese investment, and create mutually beneficial
opportunities under the “Special Strategic Partnership for Peace and Prosperity”
between Mongolia and Japan. In attendance were representatives from the
government and private sector of Mongolia, as well as investors and business experts
from Japan, who exchanged views on investment environment reform and opportunities
in the financial industry.
During the Forum, Deputy Prime
Minister of Mongolia Gankhuyag Khassuuri noted the strategic significance of
Mongolia-Japan economic relations, calling for private-public cooperation and
active participation in improving the investment environment. Additionally,
Jambaajamts Tundev, Chairman of the Financial Regulatory Commission of
Mongolia, highlighted the legal reform of the sector and the outlook for the
investment industry.
In addition, Nakamura Keigo, a
representative of the Mongolian National Chamber of Commerce and Industry
(MNCCI), delivered a presentation on the topic “Reasons to Explore Mongolia,”
introducing the economic opportunities, natural resources, and strategically advantageous
geographic location. Senior Advisor to the Financial Services Agency of Japan,
Ito Seiichi, delivered a speech on the Japanese foreign investment policy
outlook and factors that attract interest in the Mongolian industry.
Governor of the Bank of Mongolia, Lkhagvasuren
Byadran, emphasized new endeavors aimed at fostering financial stability and informed
about legal reforms to allow foreign banks to enter the Mongolian market, as
well as monetary policy changes. First Deputy Mayor of the Capital City of
Ulaanbaatar, Davaadalai Tumendalai, introduced the project “Urban Problems and
Technological Solutions” to Japanese investors with a cooperation proposal. Furthermore,
Head of the Japan-Mongolia Economic Friendship Society, K. Fujimoto, addressed important
issues, such as cultural differences, that occur in Japan-Mongolia business
cooperation.
At the end of the Forum, a Memorandum
of Understanding on Cooperation in Attracting Investment and Financing was
signed between the Trade and Development Bank (TDB) of Mongolia and the Mynavi
Bridge Corporation of Japan. Lastly, Ambassador of Mongolia to Japan,
Bayarsaikhan Banzragch, underscored the significance of the Forum in deepening economic
relations between the two countries.
