‘Let’s pass on our native language’ discussion held

/MONTSAME/ A discussion themed ‘Let’s pass on our native language’ was held in London
on December 1 with an aim of passing on the native language and culture to
Mongolian children living overseas.
Ambassador
of Mongolia to the UK N.Tulga took part in the event, meeting with
representatives of the educators teaching Mongolian language in the country. Moreover,
Head of Education Committee at the Council of Mongolians Abroad NGO, a teacher
at the Mongolian school in Stuttgart, Germany, U.Oyuntulkhuur participated in
the discussion online, informing of the cooperation among the
Mongolian schools abroad, the Ministry of Education, Culture, Science and
Sports as well as the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and introducing the digital coursebook,
tsahim.reader.mn.
At
the discussion, Mongolian teachers in the UK, S.Munkhtuya, D.Oyunchimeg and
D.Tuya shared their experience of teaching Mongolian language and education
consultants at BritishEdu center, P.Uuganbayar and L.Erdenechimeg instanced
other countries' practices regarding passing on their mother tongue and
answered questions made by the parents.
In
conclusion of the event, Mongolian language teachers and education centers in
the country agreed to closely cooperate and mutually exchange experience in the
future and to further hold the event.
