Mongolian soldiers serving in Sudan raise state flag high

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ Military officers (25 male and 6 female) from the 8th moto shooting battalion of the Mongolian Armed Forces, who are serving in UNMISS peacekeeping operation, successfully participated in Dancon March held on November 17 in Juba city of the Republic of South Sudan.

 

The Mongolian peacekeepers took the first ten places as well as places from the 12th to 25th in men’s division and the first four places and the 6th place in women’s division of the March which was challenged by over 360 military, police and humanitarian officers from 33 countries.   


First sergeant of the 123th army unit M.Urtnasan and Lieutenant of the 310th army unit  N.Uugantsetseg won the 1st place, while Sergeant major of the 350th army unit B.Munkhsaikhan and senior lieutenant of the 310th army unit Yu.Tuya the 2nd place. First sergeant of the 325th army unit D.Munkh-Ochir and lieutenant of the 013th army unit Ts.Gereltuya claimed the 3rd place as well. 


With the success of all participants, the Mongolian peacekeepers could highly raise the reputation of Mongolian Armed Forces among military officers from the countries jointly performing duties.


Main criterion of the March, organized among peacekeepers since 1972, is to participate in 25 km or 40 km march and is special as it requires power, patience and team work from the participants in 35-40 degree heat.
