G.Gankhuyag wins bronze at Senior U23 World Championships

Ulaanbaatar/MONTSAME/ Senior U23 World Championships, which attracted wrestlers from 50 countries, concluded on November 19 in Bucharest, Romania.


During the championships, Mongolia’s wrestler G.Gankhuyag won a bronze medal in 86kg event. Wrestlers from 21 countries competed in men’s 86kg event. In early rounds, G.Gankhuyag defeated opponent from Romania by 8:6 and opponent from the USA by 6:1, but was lost to Iranian wrestler by 4:0. In the final bout for bronze medal, he defeated European champion Arif Ozen from Turkey by 4:1.


A total of ten wrestlers from Mongolia competed in the arena of Bucharest, of whom G.Gankhuyag (86kg) claimed a bronze medal, Ts.Chinzorig (61kg), T.Tulga (65kg), D.Tugs-Erdene (79kg) and Ch.Altangerel (92kg) won the 7th place respectively.
