Mongolia to open General Consulate in Shanghai

Ulaanbaatar/MONTSAME/ As a part of its measures to expand relations with neighbor countries in mutually beneficial sectors such as trade, economy and tourism and protect the interest of Mongolians abroad, the Cabinet backed to open the General Consulate of Mongolia in Shanghai, China during its regular meeting on November 14.


Opening the General Consulate in Shanghai will enable Mongolians living and studying in Shanghai, Fujian, Zhejiang, Anhui and Jiangsu provinces to receive consular services. It will also create a possibility to issue Mongolian visa to the citizens of China and other countries to travel Mongolia for business and tourism purposes.    

There are General Consulates of more than 70 countries in Shanghai, which is a global financial center and transport hub, with the world’s busiest container port. Annually, about 1000 exhibitions and fairs including over 300 international events are being organized in the city.
