Mongolia and Russia to cooperate for human rights

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ Chief Commissioner of the National Human Rights Commission of Mongolia (NHRCM) J.Byambadorj delivered a presentation under the subject 'Current Condition of Human Rights in Mongolia' at the 2nd international conference “Human Rights Protection in EuropeExchange of Good Practices of Ombudsman” took place on November 7-11 in Moscow, Russia.


During the conference, a memorandum of cooperation between NHRCM and High Commissioner for Human Rights in the Russian Federation was signed by Mr. J.Byambadorj and Tatiana Moskalkova, High Commissioner for Human Rights in the Russian Federation.  


The sides will cooperate for protection of human rights and freedom of citizens of Mongolia and Russia. Within the framework of the memorandum, the High Commissioner will accept and promptly review appeals from Mongolian citizens in Russia and vice versa. The sides will also exchange information, conduct joint research and theoretic-practical conferences, seminars and training in order to improve mechanism of action for human rights at national and regional level.  


Cooperation of the national commissions for human rights of the two countries will contribute to guarantee human rights of Mongolian and Russian citizens, the sides stated during the ceremony.  


In addition, the National Commissions for Human Rights of Mongolia, Russia, Uzbekistan, Iran and Armenia agreed to cooperate by establishing an alliance of human rights organizations in Eurasia.
