Seminar on Multilingual Education takes place

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/. Co-organized by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Science and Sports (MECSS), Mongolian Institute for Education and the High Commissioner on National Minorities of the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE), a seminar and discussion on ‘Multilingual Education’ took place for the second day on October 17.

The seminar was led by multilingual education expert of OSCE High Commissioner on National Minorities A.Stoyanova, Sh.Umarov and Chief of Research Division for the Education of National Minorities and Mongolian Children Abroad at the Mongolian Institute for Education U.Tuya.

Topics discussed at the seminar include ‘Characteristics and planning of bilingual and multilingual education’, ‘Myths and reality of bilingualism’, ‘Multilingual education based on mother tongue’, ‘Content and language integrated course and its advantages’, ‘Cooperation on content and language integrated course’, ‘Multilingual curriculum standards for teachers’ and ‘Other countries’ experience with multilingual education’.
