15,000 people ride bikes regularly in the country

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/. To further develop sports and help the citizens have a healthy habit, the Bike Day-2018 was organized on Saturday.

At the opening ceremony, President of the Mongolian Cycling Federation P.Gankhuu gave an opening remarks, “As 2019 is a very important year for us bikers, we are regularly organizing competitions to support our athletes to be qualified for the Olympics. Aside from the professional scene, we also began to work on increasing number of people riding bikes. A recent study shows there are about 15,000 people who ride bikes regularly. We have a great future ahead of us for developing the sport.”


He also mentioned athletes of the Mongolian Cycling Federation who had success in international sports events, noting IM S.Jambaljamts, who won bronze medal in Under-23 individual road race at the Asian Road and Para Cycling Championships 2018 and B.Tegshbayar, who won bronze medal in Asian Track Championships 2018 as the first great achievements on international stage.
