Mongolian delegation participating in Meeting of Eurasian Parliaments’ Speakers

Speaker L.Enkh-Amgalan and Members of Parliament T.Ayursaikhan and G.Soltan are
taking part in the Third Meeting of Speakers of Eurasian Countries' Parliaments
being held under the theme ‘Economic Cooperation, Environment and Sustainable
Development in Eurasia’ in Antalya, Turkey on October 8-11.
The meeting gathered more than
700 representatives from 37 countries including some 32 Speakers or Deputy
Speakers from 35 Eurasian countries’ Parliaments, discussing ways to cooperate in
overcoming barriers to environmental and economic development, ensuring global
economic optimization and sustainable development.
Deputy Speaker L.Enkh-Amgalan on
October 9, delivered an address at the meeting, saying “The countries are facing
economic problems and challenges of climate change. I am confident that scope
of the meeting will further broaden as it is designated to be one of the key platforms
for Eurasian partnership apart from motivating parliamentarians to establish
regional collaboration for addressing these issues”
The MP then gave information
about the government’s policy on declining trade barriers between Mongolia and
member countries of the Eurasian Economic Union, undertaking joint projects and
programs, and strengthening ties between entrepreneurs while mentioning establishment
of free-trade agreements between the sides. He also informed the Parliament of
Mongolia approved a policy document on sustainable development goals and
formulated a corresponding subcommittee and introduced environmental policy of
the country.
Furthermore, Deputy Speaker L.Enkh-Amgalan held bilateral meetings with representatives of the Republic of Turkey, the Russian Federation and the Republic of Korea, talking about bilateral ties, especially the inter-parliamentary cooperation.
