Ulaanbaatar/MONTSAME/ At the regular Cabinet meeting on October 10, G.Zandanshatar, Head of the Cabinet Secretariat, reported on  two-day rural working trip of Prime Minister U.Khurelsukh to Tuv, Selenge and Darkhan-Uul aimags who saw the harvesting process.

In connection, B.Batzorig, Minister of Food, Agriculture and Light Industry, was assigned to scrutinize and resolve an issue of rendering loan with discounted interest rate to flour producers who bought wheat. Also products of domestic mill houses will be sold in the first turn, if it is necessary to set a quota on imported wheat and flour.

The Cabinet made a decision to give a night-tariff discount on electricity to greenhouses in winter time, create a possibility to transport crops through railway and increase the number of heavy trucks to transport crops. Furthermore, it was decided to repair the Shand Mountain pass road in Khurder soum of Selenge aimag, through which crops are being transported. Minister of Defense N.Enkhbold was obliged to mobilize soldiers in harvesting activity.

As of October 5, the harvesting of grain was at 35.5 percent, 84.6 percent for vegetables and 92.6 percent for potato. As wheat crops that have all bend due to heavy snow are now being harvested  only in one direction, which takes much time and consumes more fuel. However, it is likely to complete harvesting in one or two weeks if there will not be precipitation.
