Days of Mongolian-Russian Friendship and Cooperation to run for 58th time
The Mongol MessengerThe “Days of Mongolian-Russian Friendship and Cooperation-2018” is to take place in Mongolia for the 58th time. October 2, The Embassy of the Russian Federation in Mongolia together with the Union of Mongolian Friendship Societies (UMFS) held a press conference on the occasion of the event, providing detailed information on upcoming events to strengthen friendly relations and cooperation between the two countries. The grand opening of the “Days of Mongolian-Russian Friendship and Cooperation-2018” will take place on October 5 and will last until November 23.
In the course of the Days, number of events planned to be
organized. One of the key events is the International Universal Exhibition-Fair
"Gateway to Asia", which will be attended by number of
representatives from Russian Federation, including businessmen, NGOs delegates
as well as companies of Mongolia. An international
scientific conference will be held with theme “The visual arts, design and
architecture of Mongolia and Siberia in the 20th and 21st centuries: main
trends and cross-cultural interactions”. The Russian Film Festival “Russian
Renaissance” is scheduled to run on November 7 -14.
Over the past two years, 16 branches of the Russian
Language Center at the Russian Centre for Science and Culture (RCSC) opened in
the capital and in provinces of the country. This year, during the Days of
Friendship, it is planned to open three more centers ", noted the acting
head of the representative of Rossotrudnichestvo in Mongolia T.Ch. Budaeva.
As part of the Friendship Days 2018, four teams consisted
of representatives from RCSC and UMFS will
take a tour to aimags of Mongolia to conduct activities such as Russian
language and culture festivals, Russian language competitions, poetry and song
contests in Russian, competitions among Russian teachers, and meetings of
Russian alumni.
Moreover, refresher courses will be conducted for Russian
specialists in Ulaanbaatar and in the aimags with the participation of
specialists from the Peoples' Friendship University of Russia (known as RUDN)
as well as various competitions and contests, scientific conferences on the
development of Russian-Mongolian relations will be held in the educational
institutions of Mongolia, in the branches of the Russian Language Center at the
RCSC in the aimags of Mongolia.
A photo exhibition dedicated to the memory of the Master of
Sports of Russia, the champion of Russia in mountaineering, Sergey Glazunov and
an exhibition “Along the Way of the Roerichs” by the Roerich Family Museum Institute
in St. Petersburg will be opened. The premiere of the film “Wild Edens” about
the nature of Russia, wild animals of the Altai, the Far East and Kamchatka
will take place. On the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the Victory of Khalkhin-Gol
battle, a contest on knowledge of history will be organized among Mongolian

For the first time in 1952, the Month of the
Mongolian-Russian Friendship was celebrated. After the 50th Month of Friendship
in 2010, the Mongolian-Russian parties decided to rename it the Days of
Mongolian-Russian Friendship and Cooperation, since the events organized in the
framework of the month have expanded considerably.
“From year to year the number of events has increased, for
example, last year more than 20 cultural and trade and economic events were
organized, and this year more than forty, "- said the vice-president of
the Union of Mongolian Friendship Societies D. Tsogzolmaa.
