National Book Festival to run on September 14-15

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ ‘National Book Festival- 2018’ will be marked across the country on September 14-15.
 
This year’s festival is being co-organized by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Science and Sport, the Government Implementing Agency- Culture and Art Authority, Mongolian Writers' Union and Nomyn Soyolt Ertunts NGO.
 
During the festival, more than 200 librarians from across the country will convene here. The book festival will feature over 100 events, such as a consultative meeting themed 'Mongolian library update', a workshop on Visions of Library, meetings and talks, exhibitions, entertainment activities for parents and children, book signing events and others. 
 
This year’s book festival coincides celebrations of some anniversaries, including the 90th anniversary of the Mongolian Writers’ Union, the 110th birth anniversary of People’s Writer and State Prize Laureate, renowned Mongolian scholar Ts.Damdinsuren, and 100th birth anniversaries of State Prize Laureate, writer, director and translator E.Oyun and State Prize Laureate and academician Sh.Natsagdorj.
 
With the aim to make people and youth love books and support public reading, the National Book Festival is organized in every September according to a Presidential Decree No.158 issued in 2012.
