Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ Steppe Arena LLC launched a project to build indoor ice hockey rink in Mongolia. Anagram LLC is working on its architectural plan. By doing so, the Mongolian National Ice Hockey Team will be able to practice on this rink of Mongolia. As requested by the project leaders, VDA Architecture Limited and HDR | CEI Architecture Associates, Inc. of Canada agreed to work together on the project.

A Canadian architect of the construction team is experienced in developing architectural plan of public facilities and centers. A backside of the rink will be entirely glass to have natural lights, whilst the frontside will be covered to protect the ice rink from sun-heat, said the architect.

It will be built in three kilometers from the Chinggis Khaan International Airport and be designed akin to an airport according to the architectural plan. Its rooftop will be slightly tilted, so that the solar panels on the rooftop can be charged.

The arena will have 2600 seats. As the architectural plan is almost completed, the construction will commence next spring.
