State Secretary receives Uruguayan delegates

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ On August 17, D. Davaasuren, State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, received Fernando Cabral, Head of the International Economic Cooperation Department of the Uruguayan Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Fernando Lugris, Non-resident Ambassador of Uruguay to Mongolia and Antonio Karambula, Executive Director of the Uruguay XXI, Export and Investment Agency who are on visit to Mongolia.

State Secretary D.Davaasuren underlined that the visit paid by Ariel Bergamino, Deputy Foreign Minister of Uruguay last April was successful and expressed his satisfaction with efforts of the parties for developing bilateral friendly ties and cooperation as a result of the visit.
 
The sides emphasized a wide opportunity to develop bilateral cooperation in the fields of agriculture, renewable energy, trade, economy and tourism.
 
The same day, the delegates attended the very first Mongolia-Uruguayan business meeting, held at the Mongolian National Chamber of Commerce and Industry, making a presentation for Mongolian businessmen about cooperation opportunities, discussing about further collaboration in trade, investment and tourism sectors.
 
Mongolia and Uruguay established diplomatic relations on October 7, 1997. The citizens of the two countries can mutually travel without visa up to 30 days starting from June 30, 2018. Moreover, the Consulate of Uruguay will open in Mongolia soon.
