Red deer fawns relocated in Khantaishir Range

Gobi-Altai /MONTSAME/ The relocation of red deers in Gobi-Altai aimag for blood transfusion and breeding purposes has been implemented for the second year. Ten red deer fawns were relocated from Khustai National Park to the Khantaishir Range in Khaliun soum of Gobi-Altai aimag on July 8.

The red deer relocation working group led by board members of ‘Red deer of Altai’ NGO were received by the Deputy Governor of the aimag J.Ganbat, head of the Governor’s Office Ch.Bat-Erdene and expert from the Environment and Tourism Department of the Gobi-Altai aimag. The officials also involved in the relocation work.

“In 2017, we have relocated eight red deer fawns in Khantaishir Range. This year, in addition to relocating 10 deer fawns, we released the previous deer fawns in the mountains of Khantaishir Range,” said board member of ‘Red deer of Altai’ NGO, CEO of the ‘Taishir Guulin HPP’ LLC D.Amartuvshin.

Local herders are involved in the work by bottle feeding and watering deer until they grow up.
